Gahh! It's been SOOO long...

So.. yeah. I've been MIA on the wonderful world wide web lately. haha. To avoid writing a novel [when I need to start getting ready for youth in a bit!] I'll just hit the highlights & give you the cliffnotes version. ;)

Two weekends ago, I was in DC. My mom and I made it from the Tulsa airport to Dallas to DC unscathed! And we also were NOT terrorized, nervous, miserable, or on the verge of a breakdown. haha. Usually, my dad always leads us through airports, and we are left to only think about what we are going to read, eat, or drink once we actually get on the plane. I had to help mom figure out the "complicated" self-check in for baggage. We also had to WAIT for group 6 to be called! *GASP* haha. Usually my dad is always in group 1 or 2, so we get to load the plane with his group. But no, he wasn't with us, so it was group 6 for us.

Oh, and the saddest thing of all - at the Tulsa airport, a soldier was saying goodbye to his wife and baby... who must have been weeks old. The one funny thing that balanced that out, was the guy in the window seat next to my mom and I was very nervous about flying. :P Watching him was great. He gripped the armrests like they were what was saving him from a slow, painful death.

I also finished Eclipse on the plane flights. I started it the night before we left. :P

This last weekend I had a funnn lesson. My dad rode my horse the day after. I went to two of my friends' graduation reception. I got my hair cut today. Three inches off.

Oh, and today I found out that a poem of mine was published in my HS's online newsletter! I'll have to post the poem later.

*sigh* Well, I need to get ready for church, so until next post, God bless!

Nothing is more fun than an irritable grizzly bear.

Sorry if the picture grosses you out. But, that is my horse's back right leg. And the puncture wound right beneath the fetlock joint. FUNNN! *pouts* I'm going to DC tomorrow, and I don't have time for this! I can almost fit the whole pad of my little finger in that thing. Almost my whole little finger!!! And when I try to clean it, I definitely have an irritable grizzly on my hands. I was just lucky that there was a Twilight quote I could use to describe my horse. :P

But yeah. I'm gonna have to try and get ahold of Kimberly today to see if she can hose it off, keep the scabs out of the wound, and clean it with my saline solution and a syringe.

Ummm.. yeah. The syringe is what turns him in to a bear. He HATES shots... but this isn't a shot! There is no needle involved! *sigh* I'm just using the syringe to squirt the saline solution up into the puncture. I figure doing that is easier than iodine, but I'm going to do that today, too. Then tomorrow morning before we go to the airport I'm going to put the saline solution in it again.

I hate it when Dakota injures himself.

TWILIGHT

The best thing since Harry Potter. Ever. Not that anything could possibly compare to dear, dear Harry and Hogwarts, but Edward, Bella, Alice, Jasper, and the rest of the Cullens and werewolves come in a very, very close second. And I have dear, darling Kate to thank for my newest obsession. She lent me Twilight and New Moon when she came over for my birthday....... and I also got a very lovely hardback book of all of Jane Austen's novels....... I haven't started reading it yet! THAT is how much I love these books. I haven't checked out any of the books I got for my birthday yet.

Those can wait for a bit.

But the perfect predator and his girlfriend, the girl who is so klutzy she should be handicapped, cannot wait. For a day. For an hour.

Kate read the whole of Twilight OVER MY SHOULDER, during our sleepover. When everyone else went to bed [at 2:30 am] we started reading.... and we didn't stop until 6 am. Then I got an hour of sleep, she got no sleep [hey! Like Edward & Alice!] and we went to Starbucks at 8:30 am before going to the barn until 2:30 pm. We took Nikky home, went back to my house, and lay out on my bed, Kate still reading over my shoulder, until we finished the book.

6.5 hours.

We laughed at EXACTLY the same time, read aloud the SAME sentences at the SAME time... haha. It was great. My dad walked in on my room when we were on my bed, both reading from the same book after little [me] to no [Kate] sleep, because of the aforementioned book, and said, "You guys are wierd."

Thanks, dad. Thanks a lot.

But anyway... yes. Then I stayed up last night until 1:30 am!!!!!!! I finished the whole of New Moon in 7.5 hours. It took me one more hour to read New Moon because I was a bit disappointed in the lack of Edwardness, and I was fighting to stay awake. I got seven hours of sleep before having to go to church.

And what makes me laugh the most is that Jeff loves this series too! They are sooo girly [my favorite kind! :D] and he just loved Twilight. He beat me in starting Twilight, but I think I beat him in starting AND finishing New Moon. Not sure if I finished Twilight before him or not. haha. And he's coming with Kate and me to the midnight premire of Twilight. Definitely. Dunno how that's gonna go down, with Kate and I squealing like the utterly, hopeless romantic girls we are, and Jeff.... I dunno what he's going to do. haha. We shall have to see.

Oh, umm... sorry if I freaked anyone out. I might update later with how my birthday party went. [How sad is that? Twilight outshined my birthday weekend!] And Kate, I decided there were too many favorite quotes to put in this post, so yeah. 'Till next post, God bless!

Officially Seventeen!

w00t! You read that right! Today, May 9, I am now seventeen! I'm much more excited about seventeen than I was about sixteen. Maybe because nothing special happened [except for my awesome birthday party] when I turned sixteen. I got my license three months late, so I couldn't drive on my sixteenth birthday... maybe thats why, too. :P But seventeen is one more year closer to being eighteen! ^_^

I went shopping with my grandma last night. We got some really really cute shirts. And a white short-sleeved jacket. And I bought my mom's mom's day gift. I have my birthday on mother's day every so often. That can get kind of annoying. :P haha.

But, *sigh* I must get back to school work, so I can get that done and then do some house work, so my mom won't be freaking over a dirty house when my friends come over for my bday party. We're going ice skating [HECK YESS! AND I HAVE SKATES NOW!! THAT ARE SHARPENED!!], then the girls are coming back to my house for a sleepover. Then the barn girls and I are going to the barn while my church girls go to... church. haha. They have to meet the bus at the church that is going to take them paintballing [eeeeviiiiil game, paintballing, eeeeeviiiil!!!]. Then the barn girls are coming back to my house and we're going to either rent a movie or go see one. [27 dresses if we rent, hopefully Made of Honor if we go see one].

Sooooooo... 'till next post, God bless!

Memory Lane...

Sooo... I FINALLY got my skates sharpened! Oilers is MUCH faster at sharpening skates than Tulsa was. Haha. We actually sat there while the guy sharpened them after we just walked in! And it was seven bucks! Just seven bucks! I think Tulsa charged 12-15 or something like that. And that was a good several years ago.

Anyway... a hockey team was practicing and I had some major flashbacks to when I used to figure skate. That was two and a half years of my life... wow. And almost five years ago, too...

I remember walking around the rink to the ice box when I was taking lessons, and some guys were always trying to show off, doing the biggest hockey stops they could. Snow would come through the cracks in the wall as they practiced, trying to get a bigger spray. :P I was so proud of myself when I was finally strong enough to spray snow with my hockey stops. And I was a tiny lil' 11-12 year old girl. haha. I had some strong legs. Still do, but I looked like I was skin and bones, no matter how much I ate, so I guess my strength surprised even me... anyway.

I'LL HAVE EDGES WHEN I SKATE FRIDAY AT MY BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!!!! Rental skates always have such dull blades I couldn't cut myself even if I wanted to, and I've given up on trying to get on the edges, because there are none. But now, my skates will have edges!!!!! :P Yay. I'm excited. Oooooh. And now that I have edges, I can do hockey stops again. heehee. Funnn. Oh, and salchows again. And mohawks. And some semblance of a spin. And spirals! heehee.

I am waaay too happy about this. :P

So, until next post... God bless!

Flicka & the Puddle: Confidence!

Enjoy! :D This is what we do when there's no one around to ridicule us for being idiots. haha. And we do this instead of all those cheesy kissy-face-sideways-peace-sign pictures that so many girls like to do when they get together...

Favorite Convos, Pretty Much Ever

Okay. I feel like being random. I was thinking about my dad's side of the family, and remembered the convo-ish [not really a full conversation, but whatever] I had with Poppy [my grandpa.] It made me smile. Let me just start off by saying he LOVES crosswords. Loves them. There are several thick crossword puzzle books always scattered [neatly, of course. haha] across their house. And, this convo happened this past Christmas, when we went up to Springfield for... Christmas. haha.

#1 Convo

We walk in the door, fresh from our 4 hour drive, luggage in hand:

Poppy: Looks up at us, then looks at me. "Hey, who wrote Ivanhoe?"

Me: Looked at him, thought for about 3-4 seconds, "Sir Walter Scott."

Poppy: Looks down at his crossword puzzle, "Scott. Thank you."

No "Hi," or "How ya doing?" Just... who wrote Ivanhoe?

The MOST random book in the world. And for some strange, odd reason... I knew who wrote it. haha. My Grandma Pat had been looking through all their books trying to find the answer, though I don't know how that would have worked, seeing as they don't own Ivanhoe.

#2 Convo
ANY conversation that involves Kate & I & Harry Potter, especially when others are listening, and can't keep up. Hahaha. It's great. Kate had so many theories before DH I didn't know how she kept them from getting all jumbled up. She was right about the locket [which I had forgotten ALLL about] but Hagrid didn't die. However, the piano keys/grandfather clock thing was a great foundation for your theory, Kate. ;)

#3 Convo
I wasn't really IN the conversation... but I was there. Sort of an insider. ;)
We were at the barn, and I had just opened a bale of hay. Kate had been playing with the baling wire, so I handed the wire to her...
Kate: Yay! More wire to sculpt my imagination with!
Jeff: ............or your dirty fantasies.
Kate: Hey! I had NO CONTROL over that! It just happened!
And Jamie, Jeff, Kate & I sat there laughing for a good 2-3 minutes... hahaha.

#4 Convo [on facebook, of course]
Kate: He IS an epileptic freak, but he's MY epileptic freak.
Tina: And now he's an epileptic freak that made you get stitches. oh, wait... he's YOUR epileptic freak that made you get stitches, right? [As if it makes a difference!]
Kate: You know it Tina Fey! And I would like to point out that in this picture it looks like he's running out, but nope, he jumped it sideways. That has to take some measure of talent, right?
Tina: Of course, love. :)
Kate: :D

Favorite Kim sayings:
1. Maybe if your horse had picked up his left lead, he could have actually won a few races.
2. [Speaking of Kate, & I agree] She loves that THING [speaking of Rocky] like a beaten woman loves an abusive husband! [But I know Rocky is YOUR abusive husband-like figure, Kate. ;) ]

#5 Convo
Mom: [to Jamie] So, do your parents want you guys to wait until you graduate to get married?
Jamie: Yeah. Dunno if that will happen, though.
Kate: [to me] I love how they're talking about weddings... and we don't have boyfriends.
Me: No, we get to drool over celebrities. Jamie has Tyler, and we have Jim Sturgess!
Kate: Yes!

Oh... and the whole 2 hr. ride home in Kim's truck after the Gallery Farm show.
"WHO would name their farm B?!?! B! B!B!B! Not B-E! Just B! B!B!B! BBBBB!" -Kimberly
"I wanna have a pink truck, and live in Pink, Oklahoma!" - Kimberly
Nikky: "I feel like axe men are going to jump out of the ditches."
Me: "Why? Oh, because we're on Cemetary Road in Slaughterville?"
And... we failed miserably at doing a 4th grader's history homework.

Haha. So, yes. Hope you enjoyed, or got a chuckle out of something...
God bless!
