Yee Haww!

Theresa is moving OUT! Heck YES & a BIIIG YEEEEEE HAAAAAWW!!! Haha. Okay, just had to get that out of my system. :P Kim told me two days ago that she's asking Crazy Lady to move her horse out. She'll get a 30 day notice on her next bill. ^_^ Of course, Kim said things would probably get worse before they get better. So, I immediately thought OH JOY! because as luck would have it, my horse and her horse are neighbors. She'll probably go on another crying rampage like when her locker got moved to make room for the new refridgerator in the upper tackroom. So, I'll have to steer clear, or be tacked up and ready at all times, so I can head out on a hack while she gets her temper tantrum out. But in 30 days... SHE WILL BE GONE! Muahahahaha. You will also notice the sudden change of the first song on my project playlist. ^_^ I was suddenly feeling very happy, so I changed it. heehee.

Just wanted to share my happy news with y'all. Also, the picture is a picture of a painting I took. It was on sale in Mardels. ^_^ And, if you need a good sci-fi movie to watch, go for GATTACA. Especially if your a biology/general science nerd/lover. Haha. My bio teacher showed us a bit of it a year ago, and I just now got around to renting & watching it. It's really good. Not that I'm a big science lover, I just unfortunately had a lot of that stuff pounded into my brain at one point, so I know a lot of what they're talking about. o_O haha. But yeah, good movie.

Its the flu... its a cold... its... a SINUS INFECTION!

Okay.... so, I haven't been to the doctor yet. But, this has gone on for more than two weeks, and I pretty much get annual sinus infections. It's about time for one, my mom and I are guessing. o_O Soo, yes. First my mom was like, "OH NO!!!! Do you think you have the flu?!?!?!" But, it wasn't quite bad enough to be the flu I thought, so, we said it was a cold. And I sound aweful. Absolutely horrible. My students are probably going to be trying to keep their distance tonight, especially since they aren't MY students - I'm subbing for another instructor who is out of town or something. And my mom has some antibiotics she got for something she had, and is going to give me the leftovers. And if I think about it really hard, and determine how I REALLY feel.... I do think it is a sinus infection.... JOY!!!

But on the upside, Dakota was awesome last night! He almost sat down while we were cantering - literally, like a dog on his butt - because he stepped on a patch of hay and his hind right hoof slid about a foot or so. But other than that, he was pretty much perfect. I had to ride out a rather angry canter for half of a 20 meter circle once, and he was wanting to buck but we were on uneven ground so he couldn't really. After we got through that, he rode like a motor boat! Yaaaay! That's what I want. Where the front end [in a horse's case, the forehand] is up [or light] and the back end [his butt] is down [or working really, really hard and carrying most of his weight. ^_^]. Then my second hour students wimped out and got cold [I was the one sitting still, not generating body heat, but whatever] so I got to go home early. Hahaha. Kinda helps to have wimpy students sometimes, I guess. :P

Quick Update & More Eye Candy

First off, the picture is of Jessie. I disturbed her nap, and she wanted to know why. ^_^ Second, thanks for the prayers & concerns about my health... I'm getting better. It turned into a full-blown cold on Wednesday, but I'm sorta better now. I suspect allergies had something to do with it as well.

Sooo... THE PINK LID! It was a girls' youth confrence-thing my youth group does every year... girls only! =] I'll tell y'all the highlights later, when I get my... 4 pics uploaded. haha.

AAAAnd, as much as I am attached to Nikko Ritter, or rather, this picture of Nikko Ritter, I have another lovely piece of eye candy to put up. This time it's Will Coleman, an EVENTER! Hey, eventing is what I do! heehee. Unless I find any more HOT! riders [for only one person will ever deserve the title DANG!HOT!] I'll move on to a different subject. haha.

And Kimberly is not returning my texts, so it looks like I'll have to go out and ride my baby alone today.

Which reminds me... Jason's post about me leaving my horsie to follow a Shawny P. text message to Branson........ HILARIOUS! =P

Awesomeness & Eye Candy!

Hahahaha. Sooo... I had to steal Miss Kim's idea for the eye candy. I think it will be weekly, unless I get too attached to it. Like Nikko Ritter, for instance. Mmmm... one of the best parts of Animal Planet's Horse Power reality TV series. Too bad it just followed them to the McClay. Or McLain? Don't remember, some really high up junior hunter/jumper competition. So, yes. You all now know how I found this fine, fine boy. He is one of the best male equestrians his age, and he looks great as an added bonus. -.^ Enough of Nikko, for the moment. Here's my AWESOMENESS. Since you guys were having trouble keeping up with my blogs, and I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with something [got 4 hours of sleep last night, skipped church this morning, slept until three this afternoon, and lost my voice], AND my mom got me a purdy handcrafted italian leather journal with two sketched horses stamped on it for Valentine's day. So I can write in that. :P But anyway... the AWESOMENESS is this random guy here, beatbox-fluting the INSPECTOR GADGET THEME SONG! w00t! Short post AGAIN! Aren't y'all proud of me? Slope, Slope, Slope

You know what I just realized? The more you stare at the word "slope," the more it loses it's meaning and just looks like a jumble of letters. Yes, I've been doing math. I'm glad they're going over the slope = m = rise over run... I already know that and don't have to think too hard. hahaha. I just did a quiz and got a 100! w00t! Too bad quizzes aren't ANY part of my grade... only tests are. And you know how much that sucks? A LOT. There are only SIX tests. And I'm horrible with tests, so... my grade isn't the greatest right now. But I have high hopes for my next test, I think...

Well, I just needed to take a little break from geometry. And I'm uploading the pictures I took of Kimby and Chev - CHASE. Kimberly and CHASE. CHASE, CHASE, CHASE!!! Haha. Wow, it's gonna be hard changing his name. :P haha. But I'll do it. Especially since I like Chase better than Chevy. ANYWAY - I'm uploading the pictures I took of Kimby and Chase, and I'm gonna email them to her. Her mom's going to email their friends saying "It's a Boy!" heehee. So cute. My dad never emailed anyone saying we had a new addition to the family when we bought Dakota... Then again, it's my dad. hahaha. And my mom can't tell the on button from the off button on a computer. And seeing as how they're both the same thing... that's sad. :P

So, I don't think I'll put up a post until Saturday, to give you guys time to catch up with me. Whenever you get bored, just comment, comment, comment! ^_^

Chase the Case & Total Dominance

Soooooooo... Kimberly has a new horse now! Chevy passed the vet check. Only thing the vet didn't like about him was his tongue, and his teeth really needed to be floated. Lord knows Kim [trainer] doesn't keep up on things like that. And, Kimby is changing his name! Big surprise! hahaha. Who wants a horse named after a truck? Other than Kim [trainer]. She's pretty sure she's gonna change it back to Chase. His registered racing name was Chase the Case. I like the name Chase. For people and animals. haha.

On to other equine-related things...... DAKOTA WAS AWESOME, YET AGAIN!!! heehee. I luff my horsie. Although, before I rode him he made close friends with a large mud puddle. I had to give him a sponge bath. The temperature outside was warm enough to give him a real bath, but the water wouldn't be warm enough. So, we brought out the little coffee-pot-sized water heater, and that is what I used to heat enough water to give my horse a sponge bath. Whoopee! The water running off of him was NASTY. And I had two little hand-sized sponges. Yeah, he didn't like it one bit. Of course, ALL my pets just HAVE to hate water. It took me about 45 minutes, having to wait for more water to heat up again and again. BUT, after we were clean-ish [I only sponge-bathed him where the saddle goes, his neck, and his head. And his front legs, because nasty brown mud puddle water kept running down them and I was gonna put boots on them. -sigh-] and tacked up, the ride was AWESOME!

We had a few iffy moments, but he's getting better about going on his butt and we jumped a low straight. The amazing thing about that was, he DIDN'T GET EXCITED AFTERWARD! AT ALL! And we were in enough control to make a circle of the straight and the double crossrails on the other side of the arena, staying in a rhythm the whole time. EXCITEMENT!!!! w00t w00t!!

P.S. If you're wondering about the title... Total Dominance is Dakota's technical, registered racing name. But who wants a sweet, cuddly thing like Koda named Total Dominance?!?! So, I changed his name to Dakota, with his show name Kodak Moment [courtesy of Jamie's wonderful thinking], and when we get lazy, his barn name gets shortened to Koda. :P

I wish I could start a petition to add several hours to the day

Yup... if only we could have about 5-6 more hours in a day. Only if our workload doesn't increase, though. That way I could get more sleep, and not feel too bad about accidentally sleeping in for two hours more than I should... But anyway. I started this post yesterday, and just added this paragraph today... So everything is going to be about my day YESTERDAY. I might put up another post tonight. It promises to be an interesting day... First of all, I had to feed in 30 degree weather. Yeah. I had two layers of breeches on underneath my jeans. But since I had my down coat, I just had a t-shirt and thin Eskimo Joe's sweatshirt that I got from my neighbor. I am SOOO out of shape it is unbelieveable. However, I am getting much faster at feeding. I dumped icey water buckets, filled them back up with water, grained, and hayed 25 horses in EXACTLY an hour. Seriously, down to the minute. I timed myself. AAAAND, that was while I stopped to pet Rooster for a minute, and somewhat took my time. I also had haybale issues. You should have seen me. I needed just ONE MORE haybale to finish, and the most accessible one was at the top of a very tall solid wall of haybales. I was jumping up and down with a hay hook in one hand, swinging it up and stabbing the bale with every jump. I tried to jump higher, tried to stretch my arm out, but nooo. I just couldn't reach that haybale. So, I yelled at Jeff, who was convienantly bringing in horses at the time. He got me down my haybale. With that one as something to stand on, I re-made a little stairway of haybales that Jeff had made earlier, and the rest of the feeders had destroyed. Then I tacked up for my lesson, and... Dakota was AMAZING! He's been in a bad mood the past few weeks, not wanting to listen to me, getting over-excited about jumping, really fighting me about working off his butt, etc. But we did a mini-course after our warm-up [and after Kimberly fell off Chevy. haha. Sorry, Kimby. :P] and he was PERFECT. Well, as perfect as he could possibly get after not being ridden too often! He was an absolute gentleman going over the rolltop, which he's been giving me grief over for awhile, and he didn't get excited AT ALL over the coop, which I was surprised at since we were going downhill! That was exciting. We jumped the barrels both ways, without freaking out going towards home [the barn], AND HE GOT THE STRIDING RIGHT ON THE STONE WALL TO THE PICKET FENCE LINE!!!!! To steal a line from one of my favoritest performers and BOSSMEN [;P] ever... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAWWW!!! Lets just say, we ended the lesson with that one. ^^ I didn't even do no-stirrup work, which I should have. I just put him up. I was happy. And the funny thing was... I am SO out of shape, that that little mini-course made my calves BURN. I was so hot, that the sun was just starting to go down and I spent the majority of that lesson in JUST my t-shirt and thin sweatshirt, with my down coat up at the barn. Yeah. It was 38 degrees when we got back up to the barn. THAT, my friends, is being out of shape. At least for me. If I'd been in shape, that would have hardly been a workout for me at all. But, I'm so happy with Dakota, I don't care. :P Kimby is buying Chevy tomorrow!!!! [EDIT: technically today, but I wrote this yesterday, sooo yeah.] Jamie and I have been telling Kimberly NOT TO DO IT! NONONONONO! We told her to even lease Rooster and go for him, instead of Chevy! This horse has a history of bad stomach ulcers, and needs to be ridden every single day to stay sane. If someone else rides him, he tries to kill them. You have to ride him at least three days in a row for him to get used to you, so he won't absolutely go nuts. But, she went against what we said, and is going for it anyway. Jamie got kind of screwed over buying Spot from Kim, even though she loves him. We just hated to see Kimby make a mistake this big. We didn't want her to get screwed over as well, but she has become blinded by love. -sigh- So, I don't think Jamie has been notified that this sale is going on, and I don't think I am going to be the one to tell her. That will be a sight to see, Jamie's reaction. I stormed off and gave Kimberly the silent treatment for a few minutes when she told me today!!! But, she wanted me to be at the barn tomorrow at two [since I'm not "in" school and all] while the vet was there, checking him out. I had a little chat with Chevy also, telling him he'd better prove Jamie and me wrong! I love Kimby, and don't want her to get bitter about buying a horse from Kim the way Jamie did. And even though Jamie loves Spot to death, she still kind of wishes she hadn't bought him, or gotten attached to him. He is an absolute phsycopath. Spot, that is. And Chevy has major potential to become one. So, for Kimberly's sake... Chevy better exceed EVERYONE's expectations. And, even though I don't want her to buy him, I'm going to be there tomorrow at two, since she wanted me there. I'll see if she wants to ride with me, for the first time as an owner. :P That might make up the silent treatment I gave her today. haha. Well... until next post, God Bless! Tina
